President of Costa Rica Visits Berkeley Lab

On Tuesday, President of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla Miranda (right) visited Berkeley Lab along with her ministers of Science and Technology and Foreign Trade. Eager to learn about the Lab’s expertise in energy and biotechnology, they were briefed by Don DePaolo (Energy and Environmental Sciences), Mina Bissell (Life Sciences), Robert Kostecki (Environmental Energy Technologies),Eddy Rubin (Joint Genome Institute) and Hector Garcia Martin (Joint BioEnergy Institute). They then visited WANDA at the Molecular Foundry, led by Delia Milliron (left), one of its developers, and Aditi Risbud. Finally, Andy Minor introduced Madame President Chinchilla and her delegation to the unique capabilities of the TEAM I microscope at NCEM.
