June is LGBT Pride Month!

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBT Pride Month) is celebrated in June each year. In 1998, President Clinton issued Executive Order 13087 expanding equal opportunity employment in the Federal government by prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation and on June 2, 2000, he issued Proclamation No. 7316 to establish Gay and Lesbian Pride Month. On June 1, 2009, President Obama issued Proclamation N. 8387 to recognize the impact that LGBT individuals have had in promoting equal rights for all and the response to the global HIV pandemic.
