Looking Ahead to the 2011 Grace Hopper Conference (Nov 9-12)

Berkeley Lab will be attending the 2011 Grace Hopper Conference (GHC11) in force! We are excited and certainly hope Portland is ready for us, after taking Atlanta at GHC10 last year.  Led by Deb Agarwal, Senior Scientist and Department Head of Advanced Computing for Science in our Computational Research Division - Deb also leads the Computing Sciences Diversity Group at Berkeley Lab.  In addition to myself, Deb is bringing 8 women from various disciplines within Computing Sciences at the Lab who are looking forward to attending and paricipating at GHC, and meeting and mentoring many other women who work in technology.

If you are attending the conference, we encourage you to stop by our table to learn more about Berkeley Lab and any of the exciting opportunities we have going on, including our prestigious Luis W. Alvarez Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Science, and 2012 Computing Sciences Summer Student Program, where undergrad and graduate students have opportunity to work side-by-side with our scientists & engineers conducting real hands-on research!

If you are still considering whether or not you will attend GHC11 - hurry! Last year the conference sold out and many missed this very exciting event!  Click here to sign-up.

Feel free to ask for any of us - we look forward to meeting you at GHC11!
