Two Lab Researchers Elected as AAAS Fellows

Anastasios Melis (left) of the Environmental Energy Technologies Division, and Martin White of the Physics Division have been named 2011 fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). Melis was recognized for pioneering contributions to our understanding of photosynthetic oxygen evolution and for opening the field of photosynthetic production biofuels. White was honored for distinguished contributions to physical cosmology theory and data analysis pertaining to dark energy, the cosmic microwave background and large-scale structure. The two are among 539 new fellows, which are selected by AAAS members in recognition of their efforts to advance science. Best Blogger Tips
