The Lab Salutes African American History Month

African American History Month, celebrated in February, is a federally recognized, nationwide celebration that provides the opportunity for all Americans to reflect on the significant roles that African Americans have played in the shaping of U.S. history. This year’s theme, “Black Women in American Culture and History,” honors African American women and the roles they played in shaping our nation. As part of this theme, the Lab would like to recognize physicist Shirley Ann Jackson. Check out local events in the Bay Area, educational programs at KQED, and the Chabot Space & Science Center. Tell us how you celebrate this momentous occasion at eeo@lbl.gov. The Bay View CafĂ© will offer a special African American History Month menu on Thursday, Feb. 23. Best Blogger Tips
