Berkeley Lab User Facilities Representatives Visit Washington D.C.

Recently, representatives from Berkeley Lab scientific user facilities participated in congressional exhibitions at the U.S. Capitol with the National User Facilities Organization (NUFO). In addition to manning posters at two exhibitions at the Senate and House, the Lab group traversed Capitol Hill with Lab’s Head of Federal Government Relations Don Medley, meeting with Senate and House offices to explain the importance of the national user facilities to the nation’s scientific ecosystem. Participants included Susan Bailey and Yves Idzerda of the ALS, David Gilbert of the Joint Genome Institute, Seth Taylor of the Molecular Foundry, Jim Ciston and Petra Specht of NCEM, David Skinner and Julian Borrill of NERSC, and Chris Tracy and Craig Tull of ESNet.
