Nobelists George Smoot & Saul Perlmutter Explore Connections Between Mayan Astronomers and Modern Cosmologists

Science at the Theater traveled across the Bay to San Francisco’s Herbst Theater last week for a City Arts and Lectures event with Lab Nobel laureates George Smoot and Saul Perlmutter, hosted by KQED’s Michael Krasny. They discussed what physics says about the beginning and end of the universe. The event included the premiere screening “Looking to the Skies,” a video that explores the connections between Mayan astronomers and modern cosmologists, which features Smoot, Perlmutter and fellow Lab physicist Eric Linder. The video and talk were produced by Public Affairs. Go here view the City Arts and Lectures talk.
